Capital Star’s Youth Help Network program offers free short-term peer support for all 16 to 25 year olds in Sacramento County regardless of insurance. Adulting
Identity documents (e.g., birth certificate, state identification), budgeting, and independent living skills
Health Navigation
Find a new primary care doctor, understand health insurance and benefits, apply for insurance or benefits
Peer Support
Access support from Youth Advocates to learn new coping skills, navigate challenges, and to just be heard
Mental Health Assessment
For youth with Medi-Cal, we can provide assessments and referrals to mental health services
Housing Resources
Support navigating resources for housing in the community including enrollment in HMIS, shelter navigation, and exploring housing program eligibility
Job Readiness
Support linking to job readiness programs and services, resume building, linking to clothing closets, and prepping for interviews
Education
Support accessing education records, enrolling in school (high school, college, adult education, GED, etc.)
Essential Needs
Emergency shelter, food, clothing, etc.
Find Your Crew
YHN can connect you to social groups such as LGBTQ+, NAMI, and other local opportunities for connection
